Electrik is... a café by day, bar by night, independent and run with passion.

We serve cask ales, premium imported beers and award winning wines, coffee specially roasted for us, all types of teas and lovingly homemade cakes.

Classic cocktails are made to order with care and attention using premium ingredients only and our staff are always open to any unusual requests.

A carefully curated jukebox, WiFi, daily papers, and a book exchange are all available free of charge.

Our food is inspired by British classics, from sausage and mash, fish finger butties, soups & stews to pies, tarts and salads of all descriptions.

When the sun is up you can eat & drink on our secluded suntrap terrace to the rear or watch the world go by from under the awning on our front terrace.

At sundown the lights are dimmed and the atmosphere is relaxed and intimate.

Kids are always welcome. We have space for push chairs, baby changing facilities, high chairs, toys, books and kiddies healthy favourites on the menu.

We win awards too —  A CAMRA award for our ales and nominated for Manchester's best bar last year.

Electrik is delighted to present a tasting menu of fine French cooking prepared by chef and culinary lecturer, Dan Borza. Dan has held a series of esteemed positions in the city’s catering business. From Miami’s finest eateries to Grill on the Alley, the Hilton and (the much missed) Luso, he now lectures and teaches, returning to the pass to cook for the rich, the famous and charities he wants to support, not to mention being shortlisted for Masterchef: The Professionals.

Seasonal, fresh, local vegetables from New Smithfield Market, and award-winning meat from Glossop’s famous Mettricks butchers form the backbone of this romantic Guestrant. With a crack team of chefs working alongside Dan, the menu is set to include creations such as tuna tartare en croute served with Camembert and fig puffs, onion soup lavished with Gruyere as well as two mains, one market-fresh fish, served with a freshly cut herb crust, and citrus beurre blanc, and classic entrée, such as duck a l`orange.

Dessert will be drawn from Dan’s repertoire of Gallic classics: think apple and fig tarte tatin and macarons, followed by a smorgasbord of regional French cheeses and fresh coffee.

This is your chance to sample fine French cooking in the heart of Chorlton from one of our favourite chefs. A cook’s cook in the truest sense, Dan’s reputation is such among connoisseurs and food lovers alike, that buying tickets in advance is advised as we expect this event to sell out.

Comprised of an expanded, five-course menu, this Guestrant is also one of the best value-for-money parties we’ve hosted, while not scrimping on quality.

New in from the famous American Brewery Goose Island, the extremely quaffable ‘Honkers’ is hitting our bottle fridges today, to go alongside recent additions from Brewdog and Agustiner.

Aficionado Valentines Massacre with special guest Dom Thomas (Brutal Music)

On Sunday 12th February we are pleased to announce the return of Aficionado for 2012 at Electrik Bar with very special guest Dom Thomas who will be joining balearic maestro’s Moonboots & Jason Boardman for their “Valentines Massacre”.

Dom Thomas and partners in crime, Andy Votel and Doug Shipton, are best known for their endless compilations on the legendary Finders Keepers label, who specialise in trawling the world in search of lost gems, and who have brought us (well, the Western world) some of the most surprising mutations of disco, funk, pop, and whatever, from the least reachable corners of the world, deliciously fused with local influences.

Expect the finest in Turkish Disco, Malaysian Funk, Vietnamese Boogie – who knows? Dom also co-runs Brutal Music, focusing on mixing up obscure and forgotten selections of some of the finest proto house, weird psyche and mashed up funk.

As a founding director of vintage vinyl archeology team “Finders Keepers” and cross-continental club night B-Music, Dom Thomas has travelled the world twice over supplying Psych-starved mods, b-boys and misfits throughout the world with his unique brand of unidentifiable cosmic slop.

An ardent, assiduous B-Music crusader – whose love of obscure, obsolete, deleted and delectable experimental vintage Pop music and graphic design has sparked a vibrant record-stall, dancefloor and sub-cultural uprising, this Manchester beat-freak spearheads an infectious, impetuous campaign that champions long-forgotten way-out sounds.
