On Sunday 3rd June we host a very special One Deck Session with the Electric Elephant Festival Sets Sail Party!
With all sights set firmly on enjoying a week in Croatia from July 12th- 15th, we bring a bit of the festival vibe to Electrik Bar as we welcome our exclusive special guest Mike SImonetti who will be spinning the confines of his record box alongside Huw Morgan for an evening of sun drenched Adriatic sounds!
Mike Simonetti is one of the minds behind the Italians Do It Better label which was dreamt up in Mike’s kitchen whilst drinking red wine.
The name came about as a joke and it was thought that it would not be a big deal! The label is now home to artists such as Desire, Glass Candy & The Chromatics who themselves have recently featured in the soundtrack to the critically acclaimed film “Drive”.
Expect an evening of beautiful Balearica & Italian tinged disco amongst many more oddities & rarities.
Check out the exclusive mix that Mike recorded for us as part of a series with Higher Frequency:

We promise you a great night of top level comedy from some of the finest etsablished and new comedians on the circuit

A scatologically cerebral comic thinker with a keen eye for the absurd, he boastfully maintains the unique record of being the only comedian in the world (to his knowledge) to have written a joke about galvanising dustbins
Adam Staunton
“Short, likeable stage persona with unbelieveable confidence, keep an eye out for him!” – Sam Avery, Chortle, 2008

Danny Sutcliffe -
“has some one-liners Jimmy Carr would be proud off” – Chortle
Sully O’Sullivan
Has been declared a highlight of the New Zealand International Comedy Festival by The NZ Herald, a highlight of the Glasgow International Comedy Festival by The Scotsman, won Canada’s Master’s of the Universe Improv Competition, and featured on Australian TV’s The Comedy Channel

Coming on like the cooler younger brother of Guilty Pleasures , Pop Til You Drop is the mutant, pop crazed child of an unholy union between international heroes of the dance scene Crazy P and and Mancunian clubbing legends El Diablo’s Social Club.
As part of the Chorlton Arts Festival they will dig deep into the musical memory banks and bring a plethora of the best music ever, spanning decades of inspiring pop from hip hop to indie, disco to rock, r n b to acid house, played in an ‘all back to mine style’ on one old Technics 1200 record deck.

After some consideration we felt we needed to give our 4% session lager Becks Vier a run for its money.
So as of today we’ve added Karltenberg (brewed & imported from Germany) to our draught range for those that would like an alternative session lager to our Becks.
Plus we still have more draught to be added over the next couple of weeks so eyes peeled & listen out!
Greg Wilson talks about his recent One Deck set at Electrik.
Not to mention the recording of the night for your listening pleasure. Enjoy!

With American food undergoing a major renaissance right now, we’re delighted to present an exclusive menu by Southern 11 this April. Serving high quality, slow-cooked meats, barbeque flavours and a host of delicious accompaniments, Southern 11 has made a real impact on Manchester’s food scene. With meat sourced from Lancashire’s finest producers and slow-cooked in traditional hickory wood smoke, Southern 11’s must-try experience, available for one night only at Electrik bar in Chorlton.
The restaurant’s US-lovin’ owners, James and Karina Hitchen, take their BBQing seriously. James’ training, for example, includes a stint in an authentic ‘BBQ pit’ restaurant in Tennessee as well as experience at burger joints like Byron in London. He’s also worked with Jack Daniels International World BBQ Champion, Jackie Weight AKA “The Queen of BBQ”.
Meat is a big deal at Southern 11. Diners can tuck into a range of cuts – ribs, pulled pork, minced steak burgers – flavoured with hickory smoke and slow cooked for up to 20 hours. Slathered in Southern 11’s BBQ sauce and served with all the trimmings – mac‘n’cheese, parmesan frieds, cob salad and much more – this is food that memories are made of.
As part of this special meal, tuck into deep fried pickle spears with BBQ sauce and fresh mayo on the side and buttery fresh green olives on ice. Spicy ‘lil’ sausages’ set the scene, alongside a sweet, jalapeno cornbread and nachos smothered in Monterey Jack and secret-recipe salsa. For the main event, fall for hickory wood smoked belly ribs, and Longhorn beef on the bone, with a sticky, BBQ glaze, or pulled pork dressed in Southern 11’s special ‘rub’. There are a range of excellent veggie options available to order in advance too.
Wooden sharing platters are the perfect stage for bite-size desserts. The blueberry and chocolate New York-style baked cheesecakes are a reason to book in themselves, alongside fresh chocolate chip cookies and gooey, 70 per cent cocoa brownies. Yep, this is genuine comfort food to revel in.
Following in the footsteps of award-winning chefs from the Aumbry, Ramsons, the Mark Addy’s Robert Owen Brown and many more, this is a one-off chance to sample the tastes and flavours of the deep south in the heart of Chorlton. Buying tickets in advance is advised as we expect this event to sell out.
VEGETARIAN OPTIONS ARE AVAILABLE BUT MUST BE BOOKED IN ADVANCE. GUESTRANT IS A SOCIAL EVENT SO EXPECT FUN & GOOD CONVERSATION.

Greg Wilson One Deck SessionThis Sunday we welcome a legend of the Manchester music scene to Electrik Bar for a very special One Deck Sessions.
Greg Wilson will be packing up (some) of his vast music collection, leaving the reels of steel behind and making his way to our comfy chair where he will be playing anything he likes on nice crackly vinyl.
Greg began DJing in 1975 and is regarded as one of the most important figures on the UK dance scene. He enjoyed hugely popular residencies in the early eighties at Wigan Pier and Manchester’s majorly influential Legend. He was a pioneer of mixing in the UK and in 1983 he became the first ‘dance music’ DJ hired for a regular weekly session at Manchester’s now legendary Hacienda club. Greg was instrumental in breaking the new electronic, post-disco records coming out of New York, a sound he has dubbed ‘Electro-Funk’.
As with all One Deck Sessions the rules firmly in place are; 1 Deck, No Headphones & No Mixing.
